Course Level Info
Most of our students are not sure what level they are at or what classes would be best for them. We hope this page helps guide you a little better as to what may be the best firearms class for you.
Starter Courses are great to take if you can say any of the following:
- I never shot a gun before
- I have shot before but have never taken a course
- I use to shoot awhile back and I am thinking of getting back into the shooting sport
- I shot a friend’s gun a few times but never in the range
- I’d like to purchase a gun but I’m not sure what kind and it would be great to shoot a few different styles

Novice Courses are great to take if you are thinking about the following:
- I took First Steps Pistol, Rifle, or Shotgun and passed and would like to shoot again
- I took First Steps Pistol awhile back but frequent the range and want to improve my shot
- I took advanced classes in other states and understand how to handle a firearm

Advanced Courses are great to take if the below applies to you:
- You have taken any of our novice classes and continue to shoot on your own regularly. The Advanced Courses are not a refresher course but is designed for someone that is very comfortable with a firearm and is shooting regularly.
