Emergency Medical Response for The Range Safety Officer™

Length of Course: 8 hours
Taught at these locations: Woodland Park, Mobile training for this class is also available.
Course Level: Advanced (what's this?)

Course Description: Firearms Instructors and RSO’S spend years practicing their shooting skills and teaching techniques, but little to no time on responding to medical emergencies. One of their students they are over seeing must suffer. By not being medically trained or by not having the basic medical equipment to respond to range emergencies, the Firearms Instructor or RSO opens themselves up to several areas of legal liability. What the Firearms Instructor or RSO does in the first minutes of a medical emergency on the range can make the difference between life and death or long term disability. The Gun For Hire Emergency Medical Response for the Range Safety Officer is an 8 hour course that will prepare you on how to respond to and treat medical emergencies you might encounter as an Instructor or RSO. Upon successful completion, the student will leave with at least 3 national recognized certifications to include CPR/AED (American Heart Association) Basic First Aid (American Health and Safety Institute) Quik Clot Familiarization and use ( Z-Medica Corp. owners of Quik Clot bleeding control agent). The student will get to participate in several simulated range emergencies using hands-on skills and medical equipment.

Who teaches this course? All of our high-level courses are taught by experienced professionals with the credentials to prove it. They are all trained and certified by the N.J. Police Training Commission, N.J. Department of Criminal Justice, and posses Federal Law Enforcement Instructor Certifications. They are experts in N.J. Use of Force Policies, and are always updating the course material with the latest use of force guidelines and case law. At GFH this is not a “hobby” but a full time, legitimate vocation. Any " instructor” can teach you anything, but only a select few can teach you the "why" or the "root of law" to justify your actions. If you were to use your newly acquired skills and you were required to justify your actions, at GFH all of our instructors are ready, willing, and able to testify in your defense as long as you had followed the training and procedures we provided. It does you and your loved one’s no good if you survive the fight, and then spend the next thirty years in prison because of the wrongful advice you were given by a part time amateur “instructor”.
