If you qualify, you have the option at the end of the course to register for our Urban carbine 1.

Gun For Hire is proud to offer drawing from a holster as an option to our range members. This three hour course is mandatory for anyone wishing to draw from a holster while using the range facility and for our Urban Series of courses. (see exemptions listed below). The course will focus on the safe and efficient way to holster up upon entering the range, drawing from the holster, presentation to target and re-holstering procedures. The class will also cover proper procedures for securing firearms and equipment after you have finished training. It has a smooth bore (the inside of the barrel) and is designed to shoot a variety of ammunition, ranging from a solid bullet, called a slug, to multiple projectiles, called shot. Shotguns are often used in bird hunting and in the sports of trap or skeet. The shotgun course can be as short as 4 hours. During this class, students will get the NRA’s The Basics of Shotgun Shooting Handbook and intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, fundamentals of shotgun shooting, several practical exercises on the firing range, cleaning, storage, and a summary of shotgun sports and activities.

Qualification Course:
In the range you will demonstrate familiarity of safe handling of firearms. Upon successful completion you will be given a certificate to submit with your application. All of our instructors are PTC, NRA and LE certified. Gun For Hire has been qualifying security, private carry and retired police since 1992. 

This is not a beginner course! You will be required to demonstrate safety, familiarity, and accuracy. It is pass or fail.
– No holster needed
– All shooting from the ready position
– 50 rounds per firearm
– FBI Q target
– 24 rounds at 7 yards
– 14 rounds at 10 yards
– 6 rounds at 15 yards
– 6 rounds at 25 yards
For a total of 50 rounds. Must hit at least 40 rounds out of 50 (80%)

You Must arrive at least 15 minutes before your time! If you arrive after your time and miss your qualification slot, there are no refunds.

Not only do you learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely, you  hear first hand examples and life lessons from the best in the industry. This course is about 4 hours long and includes classroom and range time, and utilizes both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. In addition to skills and attitude you’ll learn the rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting from the two-handed standing positions, and continued opportunities for skill development. At the end of the course you will also earn a NRA Basic Pistol Certificate and if you qualify, you can earn a seat in the next level course.

Increase your skills, test your gear and learn the most important information when it comes to drawing a gun form a holster. Our Holster Draw course is highly recommended by every student that takes the course. Not only will you learn invaluable techniques from the best instructors, you will learn what works and doesn’t work with your gear, as well as seeing how other classmates gear functions!

Gun For Hire is proud to offer drawing from a holster as an option to our range members. This three hour course is mandatory for anyone wishing to draw from a holster while using the range facility and for our Urban Series of courses. (see exemptions listed below). The course will focus on the safe and efficient way to holster up upon entering the range, drawing from the holster, presentation to target and re-holstering procedures. The class will also cover proper procedures for securing firearms and equipment after you have finished training. Additional topics covered will include: •Range procedures •Range safety •Firearm safety •Shooting fundamentals •Holster selection and placement •Safely and efficiently drawing and holstering firearm •Ready position. Exemptions: All active and retired Law Enforcement (must show current or retired I.D. Card)

This Level 1 course is developed to take the First Steps Rifle graduate to an entirely new level of excitement. Our instructors guide you through 4 hours of awesome and challenging drills encompassing shooting at multiple targets, reload drills, and a dozen other exclusive drills that were developed by our top instructors.
