This is one of the best gun ranges Ive been to with great helpful staffs. Ozzy saw that I had a headache and brought me a bottle of water without me asking. That speaks alot and I will definitely be returning.

Whilst visiting New York for a family break, my son was determined that we visit a range for some fun so we arranged to go on Easter Monday. Our instructor was John W and immediately John set us at ease with his great sense of humour and friendly but clear instruction. After some initial safety training and shooting tips, John let watched from a distance as we shot zombies with a Glock pistol and an AR14 rifle. A brilliant and enjoyable day with excellent tuition from John W. Thanks John. Highly recommended for teenagers and as a parent, you’ll be parent of the year in their eyes.

Truly the best range in the area. Top shelf experience from the moment you walk through the automatic double doors. This range should beable to use the slogan, “when your here your family” because Anthony make everyone feel like they are family. I wish Michelin stars could be given to other things beside restaurants because this place deserves them.

I had a bit of a rocky start at this place, but hear me out. First time I went I brought my Glock and some cheap 9mm ammo I bought online. I did not know the type of bullet was the wrong kind (bi-metal), and was kind of puzzled and a bit upset when they told me I can't use the ammo at the range. However, everything was uphill from there. Anthony immediately noticed the anomaly because I walked into the port then came out no more than 5 minutes later. He asked about the issue, then instructed the staff to sell me some 9mm ammo at member prices, even though I was not a member. He made sure I didn't waste my time, and had a pleasant experience at the range, meanwhile there was an ocean of people in line waiting. Ever since then, I've paid attention to the ammo I bought, got familiar with the rules of the range, and got to know the staff a bit better. Now I'm back almost every Saturday, since I bought a few more guns at the store next door, I have more guns to practice with. Gun for hire is the perfect range for your practice sessions, you can shoot anything from a 22 plinker all the way up to a 50 BMG! The facility is clean, well staffed, well lit, and well ventilated. The staff are friendly, courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. I think this is the best indoor range I've ever been to. I'll be bringing more of my friends here, so they can experience the joys that I have, while shooting at this range.

Went with the family including a 14 yr old girl, we are all novices. From entering the facility to leaving all of our staff interactions were positive and professional. Kelsey's knowledge and recommendations added value to our experience and John W's coaching and instructions made us comfortable. John W was exceptional with our daughter, she began the experience somewhat timid but John put her at ease and gave her instructions and tips that made her comfortable with the hardware.

My friend and I wanted to do something different for the weekend so we decided to take a crack at visiting a gun range. I'm so thankful we chose Gun For Hire. The team was extremely friendly and efficient. It had been a while since I shot a gun so we got an instructor to show us the ropes. John C was awesome! He was extremely informative, patient, and calmed our nerves. I was so happy I signed up for a gold membership. I can't want to go back!  

From the moment you enter the facility everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. It was our first time as a family going and they definitely put my nerves at ease. Henry was one of the gentlemen that assisted us and then Charlie came. Both extremely nice with the kids and took their time with them. We were there celebrating my nephews birthday and it was a wonderful experience! Will definitely be going back! And with the kids!

Had a friend come over from overseas, where gun ownership and shooting are illegal. So it was there first time handling a pistol and rifle. I have shot before mainly in California and went with my friend as this facility requires 2 people to be together the whole time. The facility is very well run, with professional and courteous staff, filling out forms, Orientation, selecting weapons and instructors at the line to assist and help with the first shots from each weapon were handled well. Note, we went on the weekend and it was quite busy, about 1.5 hour wait time in line, but the experience was worth the wait.

First time going to a gun range and it was a great experience. I had a good time and Carlos did a great job at explaining how to load/unload my gun. I was very nervous in the beginning but by the end of it, I didn't want to leave. Two thumbs up 🙂

I have gone here with friends and neighbors since it opened. A fantastic place for everyone of all ages over 10 (I believe or 12). A politically neutral place that is there just to have fun and, most of all, to learn about the proper use of firearms and self defense. I have given gift baskets and gift cards for this place and man did I score big with family and friends when they went there! Fantastic courses by experts and awesome party events. What a fantastic experience my husband and I had here yesterday. Going to a shooting range has been on my bucket list for a long time and I'm glad we finally went. We got to the range at about 5:30 and it was jam packed. The staff was incredibly kind and calm considering the volume they were dealing with. The woman at the front desk (who's name I wish I could remember) told us there would be a two hour wait but that she would see if the owner could squeeze us in earlier since they close at 8 on Sunday and she wanted us to take advantage of our full hour. In walks Anthony (the owner), and what a kind and considerate person he was. Not only did he make sure we were able to shoot but he took the time to speak with us while we waited on line for our guns. He runs an organized and safe operation and you can tell everyone working for him is happy. I can't begin to express how professional and knowledgeable the staff was (also a testament to Anthony). We will definitely be back and look forward to bringing friends with us when we do!! Thanks Anthony and the awesome staff at Guns for Hire!

I have not been impressed with a business in this way as long as I can remember. From the diverse crowd to the attention to detail this is a top notch business in general. The number of women I saw here was remarkable. I think it was due to the comfortable, safe, personable, and easy to navigate environment the owner has set up. This will undoubtedly be a business that will be duplicated. All I saw was brilliance.

Today was my first time ever shooting a gun, and Carlos was super helpful! He showed me how to properly shoot and when it came time to shoot the desert eagle he stood by my side and talked me through it! At first I wasn't going to shoot the gun but he insured me that everything was going to be fine! I got both shots on the target. Carlos is great! On top of great service, Ramdel and Gabriel were also amazing helpers! I felt happy and at ease when all 3 of the workers made sure that I had a good first shooting day! I will 100% be coming back to this range and I look forward to see them all. Besides the couple of workers I mentioned, gun for hire also has an amazing owner! Anthony was such a happy person, I felt 100% at home at this range. Guns that were shot: glock 19, ak47, desert eagle

This was my first time shooting and my husband as well. I wanted to surprise him for his birthday and I'm so happy I picked this place. They gave him an extra target with birthday candles which was very nice! Our instructor was Frank and I can't stress how amazing and comfortable he made us feel. He helped us the entire way but gave us space when he thought we were ready. I will def be back just because of frank and the rest of the staff. The owner even came out and welcomed us knowing we were new. I'm considering getting the year membership because we loved it so much! Thanks frank you made our experience amazing!!

My husband brought me here for a surprise Valentine’s Day date. I was a little apprehensive at first—feeling intimidated by the VERY loud sounds of gunfire. However, as soon as we met our instructor, Anthony, my worries immediately went away. He was very thorough with his teaching and very understanding of our level of firearm knowledge. Even after my husband and I started to feel more comfortable at the range, he kept checking in on us and making sure we weren’t having any trouble. The staff overall, from concierge to the instructors, were excellent. The level of safety precautions they put in place really put me at ease. We will definitely be back!!!

I took my wife here to shoot her first pistol she ever owned. Apon entering we were greeted by extremely friendly staff and also found out somebody we knew worked there which helped make my wife less nervous and we got to meet the owner anothony,he happily greeted us and show us around. The range officers were very professional and explained everything once we were showed to the port. Ive been going at least twice a month to rent guns and figure out what I wanted to buy when my permits came through. Today I showed up today with 3 new guns. A semi-auto, AR15 and Shotgun. Ive never shot a shotgun or an AR15 and Bobby helped me understand how to safely use them both and was there for me for 2 hours answering every question imaginable. He was patient and made me feel comfortable.

This is one of the top ranges in New Jersey. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have taken classes here with excellent instructors. The range itself, is clean, spacious and state of the art. The range safely officers are courteous and professional. You will be surprised by the diversity of the people at the range. It is a great place for the first time shooter and the more experienced shooter.

I came here with my boyfriend as a fun little date. My boyfriend is in the Air-force so he knew what he was doing. However, they could tell that I was a rookie and Carlos gave me a quick lesson on gun safety, posture, and basic knowledge. It was very very loud so I couldn't really hear him but I didn't hurt anybody so that's good! We paid around $200 for both of us. The price was scary but well worth it! Highly recommend.

We visited Gun For Hire to experience something different as part of our trip to New York, as both me and my fiancé had never been to a shooting range before. We felt looked after from the first email enquiry to the moment we left! Gun For Hire is like a family and you feel in totally safe hands from the second you enter the building. We were given advice on which guns to select and given full tuition on how to use our selected guns too! Wow, just wow! No matter your view on guns, they accept everyone here.  They make the whole process so easy, and safe. I was always for 2A, I just never wanted to own or fire a gun.  That changed at a bachelor party a few years ago.  The range officer gave us a quick safety spiel, and made sure that we followed it.  This changed my mind on guns. Fast forward to today, I am a proud member of this gun range!  I go once ish a month. They take safety very seriously!  From locking up the gun case to double doors into the range, and at least 1+ range officer onsite at all times. Last Feb, I did my multi state CCW here, and im finally certified in 6 states! I am also a member of several national gun organizations, and look forward to doing some training and certification here soon. All in all a fantastic place!

This was my first time shooting - everyone was so nice and encouraging! Our instructor John was really patient and took the time to show us how to shoot and safely load the gun. Everyone suggested the AR as it had a scope and interestingly was much easier to aim than the 9 mm. Obviously much louder and a little bit of recoil but I did quite a bit of damage to my targets torso and groin! The guys behind the rental counter were so nice and encouraged me to try the AR. It can get crowded quickly so I would recommend going early. I went on a Saturday around 10:15 and every stall was in use. When I left around 11:30 it was packed! They have a lot of different options and will walk you through each option.

Amazing experience My husband and I along with 4 friends flew out to New York for the New Years celebrations. We hired a car and drove down to Gun For Hire on New Year’s Day. WOW! The staff are amazing and so welcoming. The girls at the concierge are so polite and the guys at the gun store & range are super helpful. I had been in contact via email with Marvin before we arrived in the states about our plans to visit and when we arrived we were greeted by Matt who was expecting our arrival and was right on hand to assist us. Once we completed the paperwork we went though and selected our guns, targets and were provided with safety equipment before going on to the range for some training on how to load, shoot and safely put down the guns. They guys really knew their stuff and were very patient with us all. I really liked how safe the process was, it was nice that the guns were put in locked cases to transport them to and from the range. After our time on the range which was awesome we handed the guns & equipment back in the desk and they very kindly gave us ALL a tee-shirt to take home with us as a souvenir of our visit. We were then advised to go and wash our hands using the de-leading soap as some of the party were heading the airport that afternoon. A photo on the Vespa is a must!

Today my husband and I along with some friends went to Gun For Hire to try shooting for the 1st time. As we have flown over from the U.K. we weren’t sure what to expect. I had been in contact with Marvin via email prior to our trip and he was incredibly helpful. When we arrived Marvin wasn’t in but Matt was on hand and new about our arrival! We were greeted with a lovely and friendly welcome and made to feel at home. The girls behind the desk at the entrance were also lovely & welcoming. Once we had completed the paperwork we went around and picked our guns, targets and ammo with the advice of the staff as we were totally clueless. Marvin had arranged for us to be given souvenir t-shirts to take home with us which was an extra lovely gesture. Before we left we had to have a picture on the Vespa ( thanks Matt for taking this). We all had a lovely time so thank you all very much!! Hopefully we’ll be back in the states in the future and will pop in.

Best gun range I have been going to the Woodland Park Range operated by Gun for Hire for about five years. In my lifetime I have been to quite a few ranges. This is the cleanest, safest, friendliest, and professionally operated that I have seen in the United States.

Whilst entering the gun for hire range you’re welcomed by the office lady to left hand side which guides you to a class room where you fill out a waither and then hand it back in and head to the selling zone where you may meet the owner Anthony who has very humorous tone and good vibe to him he’s very friendly and very interested into other people’s coutures, after having the chat with him my dad had purchased a Glock and a 1911 and then we pursuited to the range and shot over 70 rounds at least then we decided to go for the big gun the soviet proud AK47 which had a smaller kick than presumed but very fun to fire Overall it was a very exulliating day and well worth the money for a first time shooter.

Visited Gun For Hire range, I was first shocked by the size of the place, and adding on when I visited. Walked in and was warmly welcomed by the girls at the registration counter, did our paperwork there and received a card that indicated you had previously done the paperwork and wouldn't have to do it again for I believe it was a year. I needed some targets and was sent to the range counter in the back, it was a very nice setup and was served very promptly and professionally. On the way back I noticed they had several firearms classes going on, so there is training available also. I went with my own ammo and firearms. Went to the 50 yard range and basically just shot my rifle. The range master was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience and I will return. I travel alot and go to ranges in many different states and this was by far a top notch operation. Well Done GFH, you have gained a loyal customer, see you soon!!

Happy Thanksgiving I decided to spend an hour sighting in a new 300 BLK upper with a newly mounted 1-6 riflescope on BLK Friday I was glad the 50yd range was wide open and I came down this would be timely and allow me to try out this light rifle on 2 upcoming hunts Still a little foggy from Turkey yesterday,  i neglected to bring a BCG and Charging handle in my bag and had to pirate one off another rifle which was in my truck safe.  Once i retrieved it I immediately ran into an issue with functionality of the weapon with the bolt locking up and the ever scary “click” Jimmy Grammenos offered to help and quickly diagnosed the problem as an out of spec Cam pin in the BCG which we verified with another BCG and swapping out some parts between the 2 He was kind enough to swap the part out and get my 300 BLK running so i could sight it efficiently in for this weekend i then proceeded to make sure my duty rifle also functioned fine with the replaced part in the BCG which it did my next agenda item was to try to figure out a problem with an NPAP AK 47 which has not functioned properly since purchased on several occasions and has been looked at by a couple of friends who are firearms instructors with some basic maneuvers tried to remedy the issue. i loaded a magazine and once again had problems - since Jimmy was so helpful and knowledgeable,  i asked him how he was with AKs Once again he was able to correct the problem quickly which was a trigger spring problem using tools on hand. I now had a second functioning rifle I am a Sp Deputy U.S. Marshal and Tactical Medic [...]

Amazing, amazing amazing experience at this place. Each person I encountered was nothing less than professional at all times. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As a first time shooter, I was able to have a professional show me how to use a firearm. I was so nervous but Daniel ( and all of the gun for hire staff) remained patient, calm and reassuring. The prices were very fair. I just gave my ID and rented everything from the facility. For two people, the total cost was about $200 bucks( that is literally for everything rentals for gun ammo, targets etc.)I had a great time and will definitely be back again. After my experience there today I wouldn’t feel comfortable anywhere else. As the wonderful owner Anthony says “ welcome to the family”.

The facility es very clean and well organized. They offer 25 yard lanes as well as 50 yards. The later is probably the only one in the area. The rental selection is extensive and comprehensive so you will find what you are looking for unless you are the Terminator. The place could be crowded but that comes with the above. Aside from the range they offer a plethora of courses, trainning and guidance. The staff is knowledable, very friendly and have a great disposition to serve the public. They have excellent gunsmiths at hand and as of late the Ottomanelli's gun shop is within the premises. It is a one-stop shop very conveniently located.

Just wanted to say thanks…had an incident on my property last week with car thieves but I remember all I learned from my pistol 101 course especially the portion about home defense. I was prepared to protect my home through your course and the many visits to your range but thankfully they did not breach inside my home. Car wasn’t stolen just rummaged through. Signing up my wife for more courses & she just put in her paper work for her FFL& handgun permit…. Again Thank you!

first shot of a real firearm. a huge selection of weapons, I want to test everyone, but it all depends on time and financial possibilities. if you shoot the first time, then you will be advised by the instructor, I can say that Sean worked with us, he was good, explained everything and showed. very good location, friendly staff, and most important, there is ample parking.

Awesome shooting range, knowledgeable employees. We went with a groupon. Our instructor Jonathan was really cool and went through firearm safety with us. The only thing I would ask for would be more hints on how to shoot accurately according to your body size as it all plays a part. Overall great experience

It was a great experience.  Place felt safe and secure.  Everything was organized.  We came in, did the paperwork, when it came down to the guns, the guy was super helpful in helping us choose.  We were able to get a deal thanks to yelp so we got 1 gun rental free.  The price adds up quick (because of the bullets) but that was to be expected. They take safety very serious, they have a good system.  I would definitely recommend to others.

Sean Needham You guys are the best as a person with disabilities I can honestly say that the 2a community and GUN FOR HIRE has been one of the best things that happened to me I grew up in an anti gun family I didn’t even have water guns as a kid so I had certain ideas in my head about the kinds of people I’d meet and I Could not have been more WRONG I’ve been treated with nothing but respect and full support the people of GUN FOR HIRE are truly the best in the business and the country and I’m proud to call Anthony and the rest of the crew friends I can’t wait until Thursday when I come and get my new gun thanks for the support advice and friendly atmosphere!

We spent about 3 hours there and it was fantastic in every single aspect. Staff was professional and friendly, excellent gun selection, reasonable ammo prices. My only regrets are that I couldn't spend more time there and that I can only give 5 stars.    

I’m a 24 year law enforcement officer (NYS Courts) and live in Monmouth county, NJ. I wanted to take the NRA’s Basic Pistol course as a refresher and the required prerequisite for advanced classes and instructor training. I decided to take it on 8/1 at Gun For Hire as I enjoy listening to owner Anthony Colandro’s weekly podcast and wanted to see it for myself. I could not have been more pleased with the experience. I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness and professional atmosphere upon entering the facility. The reception staff were friendly and courteous as advertised during the check in process. It felt more like an upscale medical practice than what you would encounter at a typical range. The class itself was conducted in a very thorough and professional manner. The instructors, Wayne and Tom were friendly, engaging, and supplemented the curriculum with their vast professional and real life experiences. They made the class both safe and enjoyable whether you were experienced with a pistol or just getting started. I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience and would recommend Gun For Hire not only for its fabulous range facility but for the quality training courses it offers. I’m looking forward to taking more in the near future.
