Great show! My opinion on vehicle carry: Safe carry requirements for authorized holders of a permit to carry a handgun . . . “shall not carry a handgun in public outside of a holster or carry a handgun in public in a holster that does not meet the requirements of subsection h. of N.J.S.2C:58-4, as amended, which states, “at a minimum, conceals and protects the main body of the firearm, maintains the firearm in a consistent and accessible position, and renders the trigger covered and inaccessible while the handgun is fully seated in the holster. Subsection h, does not state that you must carry in a holster “on your person,” only that it be carried in an approved holster in a consistent and accessible position. IMO, functional carry in a vehicle need not be on you person, as long as the requirements for an approved holster are met and the handgun is in a consistent position and accessible from your driving position, as to make carrying functional in the vehicle.
