GLOCK Shooting Sports Foundation Pistol Match

Never tried a shooting match? We will make sure you feel welcome and have a blast! The Glock Pistol match is designed where beginners will have a great time, advanced will be rewarded for their best shots, and at the end of the competition all shooters are entered in the raffle to win a brand new GLOCK!

A “short description” of how the event works: There are 3 scheduled matches. You need to attend 2 out of 3 to be entered to win.  You will shoot 50 rounds of ammo at each match. You must bring your own Glock and ammo for the matches.

  • Your target is 5 yards out: You shoot 10 rounds (1 magazine in 15 seconds)
  • Your target is 7 yards out: You shoot 10 rounds (1 magazine in 15 seconds)
  • Your target is 10 yards out: You shoot 10 rounds (1 magazine in 15 seconds)
  • Your target is 15 yards out: You shoot 10 rounds (1 magazine in 15 seconds)
  • Your target is 25 yards out: You shoot 10 rounds (1 magazine in 15 seconds)

Your target is brought in and scored! That’s it! At the end of the 3 Matches we will have the raffle ticket drawing and announce the top shot winners!

Course Details:

• The prerequisite to enter the event is you need to be a GSSF member. If you are not a member we can help you. Click the following link to apply: https://gssf.pro/
• You must select 1 ticket for each firearm entered ie: Shooting in both Rimfire and MOS, select 2 tickets per week. 
• The length of the event is approximately 2 hours
• This event is held at Gun For Hire 1267 McBride Ave. Woodland Park, NJ 07424

What to Bring:

• Your Glock and 50 rounds of ammo for each category you are going to enter.
• Eye and ear protection.
• Please wear comfortable clothing. No open-toed shoes.

GSSF Glock Pistol Match Categories
Glock Categories:

It is our intention to bring more consistency between the outdoor and indoor league matches and to provide competition on a “level playing field” during all GSSF Competitions. At the request of the majority of members contacting us, we have divided firearms into four classes – Stock, Unlimited, Rimfire and Pocket GLOCK. In the future, the Lewis Prize Allocation System will be used with all stock shooters. An additional First Place Plaque will be provided for the top score in the Unlimited, Rimfire, and Pocket GLOCK division as well as the Sub catagories such as High Senior, High Lady and High Junior for Stock division.

Stock Glock

The following modifications will necessitate placement of the firearm in the Unlimited Class:
• Any non-post and notch sights including, but not limited to, “Ghost Ring” or laser, electronic
and optical sights.
• Wrap-around “grip sleeves” on magazines
• Aftermarket component parts and barrels
• Recoil spring guide/recoil reducer assemblies
• Aftermarket extended slide stop levers
• Firing pins (modified/aftermarket)
• Connectors (modified/aftermarket)
• Metallic magazine well “funnels” or “slugs”
• Lights or other barrel weights
• Any modification deemed by the Range Master to create an unfair competitive advantage.

Not allowed: 44, 42, 43, 36

1st place GSSF member will receive a Plaque from GLOCK 
1st place GFH Member will receive $50 GFH Gift card

• 1st Place Lady Class, Senior Class and Junior Class All are determined by the highest score
in Stock Class by a female, senior or junior competitor. Where there are no competitors in
Stock Class, there is no eligibility to be awarded.

Rimfire Glock

The Rimfire Division if for GLOCK model 44. Rimfire Division entries qualify for the “500 Club” special recognition patch. If the GLOCK 44 is modified in any way it cannot be shot in the GSSF Indoor Series.

MOS Glock

This Division was specifically designed to accommodate any stock GLOCK MOS (Modular Optic System) firearm and must be used with your preferred optic mounted in the factory cut-out. Aftermarket adaptor plates will be considered for use, however, aftermarket cut-outs will place the firearm in the Unlimited Division.

I entered my first GSSF competition the other day and had a blast (pun intended).  As expected, it was a very well-run event, and I learned a few things about the importance of backup iron sights when my optic had an issue for the first 2 rounds.  Was good to know that I can still be on target with them.  Looking forward to the next two events to see what kind of improvement I can make on myself.

Anthony, Matt and staff,

I’m addressing this to everyone because it deserves to be posted up. The staff did an incredible job on Tuesday night for the GSSF Indoor match. From start to finish, everyone did a stellar job. I witnessed the interactions between the staff and shooters. There were new shooters and competitive pro’s in the crowd. Your people were coordinated, and kept everything flowing smoothly. The facility you created is the perfect venue for an indoor competition, and I hope you can host more matches in the future.

I have several years experience as a Glock RSO for the annual GSSF outdoor matches in Jackson, NJ. We see all levels of shooters come to the events, and I believe they leave with more knowledge and confidence in their firearms and shooting ability. These are not just “matches” per-say, they are training sessions in a controlled environment to prepare the individual to handle their firearm in pressure-type situations.

I was really nervous to participate in a competition, because I didn’t think I was good enough yet. The staff at Gun For Hire were very encouraging and comforting, and reminded me that this is meant to be a fun experience where you can compete against yourself to become a better shooter. I’ve learned so much and gotten so much more comfortable after being a part of the competition. I’ve even made some friends along the way. I highly recommend taking a leap of faith and testing yourself! 🙂

Just wanted to share how much I’ve enjoyed the last 2 Glock competitions.  They’re a lot of fun and I’ve definitely improved my shooting skills.  I was apprehensive to sign up at first because I just started shooting a few months ago, but I’m very glad I did.  The staff and shooters are very friendly and upbeat.  Once I competed in the first match, I really looked forward the next one.  I hope to win a match someday, but right now I’m happy just trying to improve my personal scores each time.

My advice to new shooters is to get involved at GFH.  Join the competitions, take some classes and keep an open mind.  It’s a great opportunity to learn from pros, and meet good people from all walks of life that share your interest in firearms.  There’s a lot of new shooters here, myself included, so there’s nothing to be worried about at all.

Once again gun for hire outdid itself!!! The staff runs amazing and welcoming events. The gssf matches seem like they would be intimidated but they are fun if you’re a new shooter or a long time shooter you Learn and competition against yourself and stride to improve. I recommend everyone try it at least once. And you couldn’t ask for a better place to return and practice.

The GunForHire GSSF indoor matches are a great opportunity for all levels of shooters in a no-pressure, friendly and clean atmosphere. You’ll need a Glock pistol, a few magazines, and one box of ammo. Don’t have a Glock? Talk to the staff about rentals! The Range Officers and match staff will help you out with any questions. The course of fire is only 50 rounds, and shot on large, easy-to-see targets. It’s not just a match, it’s a learning experience, and an exercise to enhance your skills. You can watch the activities through the large range viewing windows. You’ll be back when you see how much fun and easy it is to participate! As a bonus, one random person will win a free Glock pistol certificate. Best lottery ticket ever!

Unfortunately I couldn’t make the prize drawing last night but was constantly refreshing my email and the webpage to see the results. Much to my complete shock I refreshed the page and Baaammm!!!! there it was MY name Jason Bott winner of the Glock Pistol Raffle. WHAT?!?!?! I had to watch the video and make sure it wasn’t a misprint.

I can’t thank you guys and girls enough for putting on these GSSF matches. I don’t get out to shoot as much as I’d like but these matches have given me the opportunity and a reason to come see what GFH is all about. These GSSF matches have given everyone of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to have fun and still compete for the Glock raffle. Never did I think I would win or shoot well enough to win any prizes. The RSO’s have been super friendly and helpful and make the experience that much better. I am now proudly a member of GFH and loving it. I can’t wait to get back down there and see you guys again to pick up my certificate. I especially look forward to Tuesday when the next match starts.
