Am I allowed to shoot my own firearm?

2025-09-02T21:42:38-04:00

Yes! You are welcome to bring and shoot your own firearm at Gun For Hire. Our ranges are designed to accommodate everything from pistols to rifles and shotguns (with some caliber and ammunition restrictions—see our rifle and shotgun FAQ for details). Since you’re bringing your own firearm, you may shoot solo if you’d like—or you can share your firearm with up to three guests in your port. For safety, we ask that all personal firearms remain cased until you are inside your assigned port. You are responsible for ensuring that your firearm is operational and compliant. If you’d like assistance, our professional instructors and gunsmiths are always available—whether you’d like a quick safety refresher, on-the-spot guidance in the port, or even a full cleaning and inspection. For those traveling from out of state, please be sure to follow all legal transport requirements: firearms must be unloaded and locked in a case, ammunition stored separately, and both secured in the trunk or as far from the driver as possible.
