Children and guns - Children

Children have an awesome time when they are at our Range. We truly believe in educating children on the safe handling of firearms. Not only the rules shooting but what to do if they see a gun while playing at a friends home.

Here are a few helpful answers to a few common question we receive.

What is the minimum age requirement?
For the NRA Basics of Pistol, the minimum age is 13yo. For First Steps Shotgun and Rifle courses, the minimum age is 10yo. Students must show maturity and responsibility, has the required positive attitude when handling firearms, and is able to follow along with the lessons and course materials. The student must successfully demonstrate the knowledge which they have gained with safe gun handling skills, before moving on to the next stages of lessons. For courses which do not contain “live-fire” shooting exercises, there is no minimum age requirement. CCW courses require that the applicant be 21 years of age.

Can I bring a minor to the range?
