My friends and I came here for her bachelorette weekend. It was an absolute amazing experience. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. Guns For Hire was extremely accommodating. They gave us two boxes of ammo, three free targets, and free t-shirts which was very generous of them. My favorite thing about this place was the atmosphere. All the workers there had a great personality and it made our experience more enjoyable. Personally, I was terrified because I had never shot a gun before and I am extremely afraid of loud noises but the instructors that stayed with us were so nice and helpful. The instructors were very patient, and made sure we were comfortable with the guns before having us shoot. I also loved how they were so considerate. We had been waiting in one of the classrooms for about ten minutes when an employee came in and decided to move us to a more secluded range so that we could get started because they took into consideration that it was her bachelorette weekend and they knew we had a lot more planned. I don't think that five stars does this place justice! I am highly recommending this place to all my friends and I will most likely be back 🙂  

I came here this past Friday early in the morning to try out my new rifle and to zero my red dot. I chose the 50 yards booth. Since it was my first time here, I had to register in the front desk, which was fairly quick process filling out some forms. I found the staff here very professional and very knowledgeable, and they take pride in what they do. Especially with the RSO, Arthur, and the two gun smith, one of which was Kevin O. Arthur helped me load my magazine to save some time, gave me some pointers in my shooting, and when I started having issues with my rifle (gas tube came loose), he immediately called the gun smith (Kevin O.) to come. They fixed my rifle very quickly, pro bono and brought it back ready to go. My overall experience was pleasant, and I did enjoy my time shooting. I will definitely come back very soon. Despite living 45 minutes from here, I would choose to come here rather the shooting range closer to me, and I will certainly recommend this to other people.  

My 9 year old son wanted to try try shooting a gun. Staff was great and very helpful. Will be back, just wish they were closer hour and half ride for us. Funny thing is I still have not shot a gun and it was the first time for my son.

Loved it. This was our very first time shooting and all the member was very friendly and helpful till I left the place. I wish I cud gave then more than 5 star. Cant wait to visit them again.

The facility is very clean and well organized. They offer 25 lanes as well as 50 yards. The later is probably the only one in the area. The rental selection is extensive and comprehensive so you will find what you are looking for unless you are the Terminator. The place could be crowded but that comes with the above. Aside from the range they offer a plethora of courses, trainning and guidance. The staff is knowledable, very friendly and have a great disposition to serve the public. They have excellent gunsmiths at hand and as of late the Ottomanelli's gun shop is within the premises. It is a one-stop shop very conveniently located.

A one kind gun range for the whole family. The staff is terrific and the instructors are very Knowledgeable. I took my wife and son with me as newbies and they absolutely loved it. This was a great experience and we will come back again.

Had a great time with my partner, niece and niece's cousin. Very professional, knowledgeable and helpful staff but should they notice that you know what you are doing, they'll just stand behind you and are always ready if you need any assistance. Their ammunitions are of good quality --  they won't leave any mark on yourself and your clothes. Their place is big and clean too. They offer courses and they seem pretty nice and decent. The niece and the cousin says the starter course was really good. Their service is pretty quick -- from concierge to filling up forms to rentals and purchases to firing instructions. We also saw a few people who went in with their own guns. Will definitely come back if we are around New Jersey.

Had a great time at Gun for Hire this past weekend. Ran into Gun Range instructor Kenny. Great to see him - can't wait for him to come back. He is super patient (especially with beginners). He reminds you on the little things such as stance, aim, breathing techniques - just awesome. He helped me out when I came last year and good to see Range instructors sharing/passing on gun safety knowledge. Place is always super clean and forget those styrofoam ear plugs - be sure to wear the over the ear protection because it is LOUD! Great time - looking forward to going again next month.  

I’ve been taking Gun For Hire classes before they even had their own range. I feel like I’ve watched Anthony’s empire grow from an infant to a teenager and soon an amazingly successful adult (after the opening of Mt Gunmore!). Anthony has been beyond gracious to SAW (second Amendment women)! The comfort level at Gun For Hire surpasses any other range that I have been to. I’ve dropped in with my family just to say “Hi”. In my first Gun For Hire class over 8 years ago, I heard Anthony say “Welcome to the family” for the first time. He’s not kidding; it’s a family, and you will certainly feel welcome! The range, the parking, the staff, the plethora of weapons are great. The staff is very knowledgeable, patient, alert, and friendly. The owner, Anthony Colandro, is a good dude. While viewing their website i noticed they didnt have a flag that represented where my family comes from and all that, and on the website it stated "if you don't see your flag, let us know". Being a muslim Palestinian american i was hesitant but didnt think much of it (in this day and age) and i emailed them. Anthony himself emailed me back took care of it on the spot. Ended up going to the range an hour later with a military friend and Anthony greeted us. That man is the epitome of what the town and country needs. Laid back, professional, humurous, and straight up. Cant say enough about him or his business, thank you!

Gun For Hire is the BEST fire shooting range in New Jersey. The excellent management team and staff are extremely welcoming, which provides a phenomenal family friendly atmosphere. The entire staff does a great job accommodating the visitors and explain everything in great depth. Took NRA basic pistol today with my 15 year old son for father's day.  Great facility, Ed and Tom were great instructors!  Learned alot and had a great time with my son. Highly recommended!!!

Today was my FIRST TIME at a shooting range and using a real gun. I was SO NERVOUS but had fun. The trainers there had lots of patience, especially when I was too nervous holding the hand gun. I found that harder then the AR 15 ( I think it was ). I will definitely come back when I get the chance. My 11 year old nephew loved it too. THANK YOU for your GREAT customer service

Great place to go especially for first time shooters. The staff is professional and will show you the safe and proper way to handle and fire the firearm. Only wish I can bring my muzzleloaders in but then again I make too much smoke. ????????

This place is awesome . i went with my friend Mercedes and we had a really great time. There's many different types of gunsand riffles you choose from. We had a great instructor Ryan who made sure to walk up step by step on how to properly fire ! The manager Sai was also great and patient letting us inquire about which gun was best for us. My son is leaving for boot camp in 4 weeks so there wasn’t really anything I could get him for his 18 birthday since he can’t take anything with him. He has been trying to get me to go shooting for years so finally I decided this would be the perfect present. This place was amazing! I’m not gonna lie I was nervous but everyone there was so helpful and friendly. For first timers there you have to fill out small amount of paperwork and that process was handled very efficiently.The only thing I would suggest if you are an absolute beginner is maybe take a one on one class first. I am going to take one now to make myself a little more comfortable before I go again with someone else. But honestly amazing staff! Very patient with me while I was trying to learn and get comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Also not at all what I was expecting it was very family oriented.

I took my daughter Shaidae with me today to shoot. We had a wonderful experience. Our instructor Bobby was great! He was very patient with us. He explained everything in great detail about the two guns we were using AR 15 and Glock 19 Gen 3. I'll be back next week to get myself more familiar with the Glock 19 which has always been my choice of handgun to purchase. The staff is awesome and so professional!!

The range is awesome, the people working there are respectful, polite and ready to help. Marvin , the manager is the man when it comes to help with a Glock and helping new shooters have a great time. NICK, a goofy range safety personnel taught trigger /breathing/ grip techniques to my buddies. Anthony the owner is a great guy who is about 2nd amendment. Great place , keep up the good work guys!

Today was my first time at a shooting range. Our instructor was Freddy. He was awesome. Explained about safety, loading, how to hold a gun. He made me feel very comfortable. This was a Mother's day gift to me from my son and his wife. Freddy taught us so well that on one of my targets I got a bullseye. Thanks Freddy for your knowledge and help.

This was the first time I used ever used a gun . My instructor Marshall was simply the best . He made me feel so comfortable using the gun and made me not be Afraid to use it . When I go back and I will be going back to shoot bc of him bc he made it fun . I will def ask for him to help me out again ..

Just completed NRA Basic Pistol Course and Florida CCW. This place is awesome. I'm a novice shooter and wanted a better insight in responsible gun ownership and training. Vladimir the instructor and RSO was superb and the class was very informative. Definitely recommend GFH and will return and can't wait for new venue to open also.

Went here for my bday. All the staff was helpful and attentive. Sai walked us through everything from the beginning. Very fun and safe place � I highly recommend it.

I was very Pleasantly Surprised b the place! Now I have been over the past 40 plus years to a lot of Gun Ranges. Both here and overseas. So I think that I can safely say that I might know what I am talking about on this subject. In that this place is very big, clean, well organized and staffed. By that I mean is that That while the Staff is very well trained and mannered there are no Gun Rule Nazis here. They also have a very impressive selection of mostly pistols to rent. The prices for the east coast area are very reasonable. So here is my bottom line for this fine outfit. That I would give it an A+ and recommend it to those folks who like to shoot or want to learn more about the fine art of shooting! That and mega kudos to all hands involved at this establishment!

Katherine M. -2/10/18- I was super satisfied with this shooting range. From the moment i walked in with 3 of my friends we were treated like VIP. We went to celebrate my bff bday. Marvin greeted us at the entrance and took us right in to the front desk. The ladies there quickly gave us paper work to fill out. We were done with that part within 10 min. We went toward the back where we choose our guns and glasses and ear pieces. Michael greeted us quickly and helped us get started. Within minutes my friends and i were shooting a 9mm gun. Thank you to Skylar and Alex for putting up with us newbies . They really trained us and watched us and quickly came when we needed help. We were 4 first timers and with the help of all these wonderful staff that i mentioned we left feeling like pros. We learned how to shoot a 9mm gun and a rifle. The staff was very professional and helpful. I want to thank Marvin for letting us have this great expierence. I do recommend going early especially on the weekend. I will be going back. Shooting a gun is scary, but with the trained staff they have it was a piece of cake. I felt badass in there.

Was able to use my 12 gauge and my girl was able to have some fun practicing with toys that uptight and stuffy blue NY would even let you dream about. Will happily be a returning customer.

Just visited today, was having an issue with my rifle, the general manager Jimmy Grammenos stepped in, took it into the shop for a few minutes, replaced the broken part, and now its as good as new. Ji Antique -1 week ago- If you need some therapy, come and shoot here. First two times I came made me fall in love with the place, the team, the selection of guns and of course the level of safety. On my third visit I became a silver member which is great if you wanna come a few times a year. You get happy hours on gun rentals M-F 2-5pm, reduces price on ammo and port rental, 3 guest passes and some other perks. I love this place

Darren Miles- Gun For Hire has changed the Recreational Shooting Game in NJ. The shooting/ gun scene had been on the decline for years, and no one did anything innovative to make a major change in this arena. The traditional local ranges were left serving the seemingly privileged few and law enforcement. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and made us feel super comfortable and safe in what could be an intimidating environment. Once in the shooting range, Mike Trama taught us how to properly use both the Beretta and the AK-47. Mike is awesome! He makes you feel at ease and super secure. He doesn't mind explaining things over and over and remains with you during the entire experience in case you need him. It is a true indoor shooting range with a super professional vibe and very organized. It was our first time there and we will be back for more shooting fun. Make sure you meet Mike Trama. There is so much I have to say about this gun range so I'll split it up into small sections to make it easier to read. Location: Gun For Hire is located in New Jersey, in a small suburban area. It wasn't hard finding it since they're affiliated with the Woodland Park Range. They have tons of parking spaces near the front and in the back, with some reserved especially for GFH customers. Customer Service/Ease of Transaction: Since I was a newbie, I had to fill out a short application in a waiting room with a instructional video playing. After returning the application, they took my driver's ID and took my photo to register me. Everything was fast and painless. After registering me into the database, we went to pick up our ammo and guns. Pricing: Here's where the fun comes in, since this is a gun range; don't be surprised if your bill racks up. Everything costs money, adding a person to port? $$ , want more targets? $$, renting more than one gun? need more ammo? Keep in mind that you get exactly what you pay for. In addition to renting two guns, we bought 3 boxes of ammo (2 for rifle, 1 for pistol), 15 minute brief lesson, 3 targets, 2 pairs of eye and ear protection, and 2 noise cancellation head sets. We paid about $180 for two people which was pretty worth it in my opinion. Gun Range Education: The gun's we decided to rent were the camo colored AR15 and a pistol. Pat K- in the last week Clean and well ventilated unlike many gun ranges. This is probably the best indoor range in the country with the only competitor being the NRA HQ. The staff here are great, it's a safe environment. The range can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, go early.

Shardool Satam- 2 weeks ago- This was our first gun range experience and boy it was amazing!!! Gun for Hire is extremely professional, clean, and most importantly safe gun range. Everyone, right from the front desk to the Range Safety Officers were friendly, helpful and professional. There is a heavy emphasis on safety and they always keep reminding you to keep your finger off the trigger when not shooting. The front desk was helpful as well and she answered all the questions (especially pricing ones) patiently. Generally there is an hour long wait, but since we went on Tuesday evening, there was practically no wait time. Weekends are generally bad. Pricing is a bit high, with lot of additional costs. There were 2 people who were using the gun range and renting a pistol (glock) and a shotgun (remington 870 tactical). The pricing is as follows: 25$ for 25 yard port for 1 hr, 30$ for 50 yard port for 1 hr 15 usd per additional person on the port (max 3 ppl can share the port including the person renting the port) $25 for 15 min mandatory training exercise. Every gun rental costs $20. So it was $40 for us (glock and shotgun) $30 for glock ammo (50 bullets) and $25 for shotgun ammo (25 bullets) Eye and ear protection $7 each 2 targets for $4.50 which totalled around $183 for 2 people They have a vast collection of guns! I was dumbfounded by seeing their armoury! You basically tell them which gun you want to rent. Ednald Smith- 2 weeks ago- Amazing Experience!The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable on every weapon. Our trainer Musy was the best ever he was fun and easy to learn making sure we was safe at all times. We will surely be returning in our upcoming.

Stephanie C. Today was the first time I ever shot a gun, and I had a blast!!! We used a groupon that included an AK47 and Barreta pistol, protection stuff, ammo, etc. The pistol, being light and easy to target, was my favorite. (The ak 47 was very heavy!) Kenny taught us how to shoot, load, aim. Very cool and smart guy, was beside us at every step of the way. I appreciated an attentive staff person as shooting  can be intimidating at first. I must've asked him the same questions over and over again, and he never got frustrated. Instead, he was watching me and making sure I was doing the right thing at all times. Anyway, I'd highly recommend coming here. Especially for new-commers!!!  

Shantelle- Came here for my birthday gift with family and friends and we had a blast!!! Everyone was so pleasant and the instructors were very knowledgable and patient. The staff were so fun to be around we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for helping me enjoy my special day.

Omg this place is amazing and the trainers are FANTASTIC! Our trainer Lauren was such a sweetheart! She was extremely patient with us, always bucked us up. We got a great deal through groupon, but we may actually end up signing up for their annual membership. The place is definitely noisy, but you kind of get used to it after a while. Great great great experience!

Mike M. I am a Silver level member of this range. As it's proprietor often says, it is a 6 Star range and I view that as entirely accurate. The staff is friendly, attentive and entirely professional. It's the kind of place where they remember your name and even what equipment you own and are eager to discuss what you're running. Very welcoming environment for new shooters. Family friendly; I've brought my wife and kids with me.

Even if you have no desire to shoot any kind of gun, I recommend checking this place out yourself. Why? First, the staff couldn't be friendlier and more helpful. Just want to look around? No problem. Second, Safety is one of the most important items here. NO ONE walks around armed. Range Safety Officers are never in short supply. They can help you with most anything while shooting. Third is cost. I have been involved in many endeavors in my life. Shooting is not expensive compared to many other sports (skiing, golfing, bowling, even bicycling).  Finally there is the friendliest group of people all around you. No other sport compares to the camaraderie you will find here. Like my pistol? Here, shoot a few rounds. Try yours? Thanks! Going here for an hour would be like going to a favorite restaurant and being catered by four waiters, a bartender and two drink servers. Just for YOU! Now, are you still sure you won't come out to play?  

Anthony, I just wanted to let you know how pleased my father and I were with yesterday's reloading class.  Charlie and Kevin were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, willing to help and answer any and all questions.  It was a very rewarding class and I'm glad I took it.  It really took the mystery of reloading away and showed us the basic steps to begin a new hobby.  I look forward to getting setup and making my own rounds.  And I really must commend Charlie on his willingness to help.  Throughout the day he repeatedly told the class to reach out to him at any point in the future if we had questions regarding reloading, and that he would be happy to help, and depending on location he even offered to come to us to help with setup or other issues.  You could tell that he was sincere in this offer because he is so passionate about his reloading. Also, this was my first trip back to Gun For Hire since you started construction on the expansion, HOLY SHIT!!!  The addition is humongous!  As I turned off Rt 46 I remembered that the range is quite close to the exit and I wanted to make sure I didn't pass it as I drove by....well there is no longer a chance of that happening!  I saw the huge curved roof and said, Well that's gotta be it! Congrats on the expansion, I look forward to the completion and seeing the new range! Oh, and one minor complaint...I've attached a picture of a sign in the men's room...I think you'll need to discuss with Nappen because as you must know, slingshots are illegal in NJ...  LOL! Aaron Traas a month ago- I've been shooting here since they first opened. I shot the first gun I owned here for the first time shortly after the range's grand opening. It's always a great place to shoot and take classes, but where they really shine is new shooters. I took my 8-year-old daughter to your range for the first time. We got to the 25-yard range, and my daughter was overwhelmed. The RSO's were super helpful and did everything they could, but it was just a loud environment, and it was too much for her, and she asked to go. So I obliged. Then Jimmy saw us leaving the range, gave us a couple new targets, sent us to the 50-yard range which was empty. He told the RSO to give my daughter special instruction with her new 22 bolt-action rifle. And after 2 or 3 shots where she had a hard time getting a good sight picture, we had her shooting a 5-shot, 1.5" group. She was manipulating the bolt and the safety confidently, and had a great time. GFH's excellent staff turned a scared little girl to a confident shot that's already asking to go back. The only downside to this range is the wait times on weekends can get insane. Hopefully the expansion gets finished soon!

Amazing service , an exceptional experience and fast too. I was there for an hour and it felt like 15 minutes. Our instructor Micheal really hooked us up when it came to safety instruction and just overall . Thank You GFH! Jon D - 5 Stars
