There isn’t a range rating standard anywhere sufficient to evaluate the incomparable facilities at Gun For Hire’s Woodland Park Range. That’s because at Gun For Hire, we don’t limit ourselves to the standards created by others – we break those standards and hold ourselves to an even higher benchmark. No one sets higher expectations than we do. One visit to our facility and you’ll understand why. The current range rating points system of NSSF® awards the highest rating of 5 stars for only 500 points (which most ranges do not even come close to). Our Woodland Park Range facility currently warrants an unprecedented 625 points under that standard, yet we do not rest on our achievements and continue the relentless pursuit of excellence every single day.  Gun For Hire is proud to say we shatter the 5-star standard and would qualify for an unprecedented 6-Star Rating – if one existed!  Well it does now, and we define it.  No one else comes close.  Come visit our facility, take our courses and see the difference 6 stars make!

Open to the public with limited Memberships

Both of our ranges (13 port 25-yard and New Jersey’s only public 6-port indoor, 50-yard shooting range) have a state-of-the-art, programmable turning target system. The target system is easy to use and quickly positions the target at the desired distance controlled from a digital keypad located in each lane. Our Range Safety Officers can help you select an appropriate, pre-programmed scenario to test your shooting skills.

Your comfort, health and safety are our first priority. With this in mind, we have a custom designed heated and air-conditioned ventilation system that will keep the particulates and gas from your discharging firearm moving downrange at all times.

When you’re done shooting, you can relax in our lounge and watch other Club Members shoot or you can enjoy some great food at our “Rifle Camp Café,” which is located in the Club.

Qualifications
We will also be offering retired PD and security qualifications every Tuesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and every Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with no appointment needed.

Training
Gun For Hire offers a variety of different training and instructional programs for the beginner as well as the more advanced shooter. Our range will have dedicated ports for firearms instruction; no more feeling rushed or hurried when you are in a class.

Firearm Rentals
We will offer the largest selection of handguns, rifles and shotguns in various calibers for rent in the Tri-State Area. This page will be updated as our rental inventory grows. If you want a change of pace from your own firearms or are trying to decide which gun should be your first, our rental program will give you an opportunity to try a variety of options.

Range Supplies
We will offer all of your range supply needs from targets to ammo to eye and ear protection.

What type of clothing is required to use at the range? Do you have a dress code? – We don’t have a dress code, however, we recommend shooters wear closed-toe footwear and shirts that aren’t low cut to avoid getting burned by spent shell casings.
