Level 1 is where new and developing shooters build the foundation that everything else depends on: safety, confidence, proper handling, and comfort on the range. These courses are designed to help you learn the right way, with professional instruction and a clear path forward.
Start here if you are new, recently purchased a firearm, or want to feel more confident before moving into intermediate training.
LEVEL 1 COURSES
Level 2: Develop Safe, Confident Skills
Level 2 is where students begin turning the basics into stronger, more practical shooting skills. This level focuses on safe gun handling, better control, improved accuracy, and learning how to work from the holster with confidence.
This is the right next step if you already understand the fundamentals and are ready to become more capable, more comfortable, and more prepared for higher-level pistol, rifle and shotgun training.
LEVEL 2 COURSES
URBAN SHOTGUN 1
Urban Shotgun 1 is an introductory course focusing on the tactical use of a shotgun. The course will teach you how to use your shotgun in a self protective environment. You will learn practical tactical uses such as carrying your shotgun safely, mounting it on your shoulder, reloads and how to manipulate your shotgun under pressure. The instructor will go over the differences and pros and cons of using buck shot or slugs. You will also be taught tactical movements and home safety planning.
Urban Carbine 1
This Level 2 course is developed to take the First Steps Rifle graduate to an entirely new level of excitement. Our instructors guide you through 4 hours of awesome and challenging drills encompassing shooting at multiple targets, reload drills, and a dozen other exclusive drills that were developed by our top instructors. Experience the excitement and adrenaline of our Urban Series Courses!
Urban Precision Rifle 1
Learn how to use your rifle and gear correctly past 500 yards! Gun For Hire’s Precision Rifle 1 is our introductory course to understanding how to shoot accurately at any long distance. The course is divided into 2 days.
Day1: The first day’s course is held at Gun For Hire’s Range in Woodland Park. We will cover all the classroom information here as well as get your rifles zeroed in our indoor 50-yard range.
Day 2: We will all meet at the beautiful outdoor Tommy Gun where we will set up our long-distance shoot and put our Day 1 education to use. This is an amazing course that any beginner will feel comfortable taking!
Urban Red Dot
This tactical Red Dot pistol course will serve as an introduction into utilizing reflex sights on a pistol The course will begin with the fundamentals of using a red dot, the advantages of using reflex sights over iron. As well as being able to utilize your iron sights if the reflex sights go down and much more.
Level 3: Advance Your Training
Level 3 is where your training becomes more dynamic. Students continue building on their foundation while developing skills such as movement, low light awareness, flashlight use, draw from concealment, red dot confidence, and more advanced firearm handling.
This level is for shooters who are ready to move beyond basic range practice and start building real-world confidence through structured, professional training.
LEVEL 3 COURSES
Urban Carbine 2
Reality is that we face threats to our safety and security each and every day. Gun For Hire’s Urban Carbine 2 course will give you the blueprints to handle many situations that may arise. This is an incredible course that Gun For Hire’s top instructors guide you through. Each drill is repeated to test yourself, your firearm and your gear.
Urban Pistol 2
This is Gun For Hire’s exclusive course series which was developed by the best team in the industry. The education goes way beyond the typical text book because of our highly trained instructors who have decades of experience in law enforcement and military. This tactical pistol course will serve as level 2 to our Urban Pistol Series. The course will begin with a quick review of the fundamentals you learned from Urban Pistol 1 and move right into advanced shooting techniques.
Low Light No Light
The Low Light No Light course will teach students the importance of not only operating in a low-light situation but also how to dominate a situation with light. The course will instruct students in different shooting techniques and how to survive a threat. After taking this course, you will see that you should NEVER be without a flashlight.
Level 4: Train Under Pressure
Level 4 is designed for experienced students who are ready for more demanding training. These courses challenge your ability to think, move, communicate, and perform under pressure while continuing to build safe and controlled firearms skills.
This level may include advanced pistol, rifle, low light, team-based, or scenario-driven training for students who have already developed a strong skill foundation.
LEVEL 4 COURSES
Urban Carbine 3
The Gun For Hire Level 3 Carbine course is for students wishing to push themselves and their carbines to the limits. This course is not for the faint hearted or new shooter. This 4 hour course starts with a quick review of fundamental drills and then moves right into advanced high level shooting and stress drills. The student will learn how to employ their carbine in the urban setting. The course involves high level shooting and moving drills both as an individual and in buddy teams. Students will learn proper techniques for fighting in and around vehicles using live-fire stress drills. The student will also be shown advanced building search and room clearing techniques to include follow-on rooms and hallways.
Urban CTC (Crush The Clock)
Introducing Gun For Hire’s Urban CTC (Crush The Clock!). We’ve put together a set of standards to test yourself against the clock. With Urban CTC you’ll have the ability to establish objectives for your training, a guide to meticulously track your progress. Watch yourself get better as you train. If you’re not tracking your capabilities, then what are you doing? How do you know if you’re getting any better? Urban CTC is a must. You will be coached by our experts to get it done correctly. It’s you against you as you compare your performance from session to session. How Good are you! Your training is too valuable, time to find out! Experience Urban CTC! You’ll be itching to do it again and again!

Urban Pistol 3
You’ve made it. You will be talking about this course for many years to come. This is a 4-hour course. The Gun For Hire Level 3 Urban Tactical Pistol course is for shooters wishing to push their shooting and weapon manipulation skills to our top level. You will experience fast High-Level Drills while using the skills you have learned from Urban Pistol 1 and 2.
Level 5: Invitation Only
Level 5 is reserved for select advanced students who have demonstrated the skill, safety, mindset, and commitment required for the highest level of Gun For Hire Academy training. These opportunities are invitation only and are designed for serious students ready to continue beyond the standard training path.
Advanced Training Alliance
At Gun For Hire, we offer an exclusive, invite-only advanced shooting course designed for seasoned shooters who are ready to take their skills to the next level. This elite training program is crafted to provide a comprehensive, high-level experience that goes far beyond basic marksmanship. The course includes dynamic movement and advanced drills that can’t be practiced anywhere else, dual platform training with both rifle and pistol, and rigorous timed standards to push you to your limits. Our curriculum is designed to evolve continuously, ensuring that each participant receives the most effective, cutting-edge techniques for improvement. You’ll also engage in specialized team tactics and participate in our yearly ballistic shoot, a unique event that requires additional materials for optimal training. Each month, new challenges will be introduced to keep you evolving as a shooter, providing the advanced, personalized practice you’ve been seeking. This program is reserved strictly for those who have been invited to participate, ensuring an intimate and highly-focused training environment that is tailored to meet the needs of the most dedicated students.
